In September of this year, the City of Gatesville closed the public library after a patron found books on the shelves with water damage. Several factors contributed to mold on the books including faulty HVAC system, rainy and humid conditions, and roof damage. The library staff has worked tirelessly to ensure each book is safe and there is no danger to the public. It is estimated that about $500,000 worth of books, about 60%, have been lost.

You know we love our community, so we are holding a special benefit to help raise money to replace the inventory lost.

While this benefit has ended, we know the story will be hitting the news over Christmas. Should anyone want to donate, we will happily add your donations on to the library!
